Kelantan cosmetics founder believed to have been taken to neighbouring country

TUMPAT: A 36-year-old cosmetics company founder from Kelantan who was said to have been abducted is believed to in a neighbouring country.

Sources said her abductors were believed to have brought the victim across the border after kidnapping her from her home in Kampung Semat Jal yesterday.

"It is believed that the woman was brought to the neighbouring country via one of the illegal jetties in Pengkalan Kubor.

"A Toyota Vios allegedly used in the kidnapping was found abandoned near the border in Pengkalan Kubor," said sources.

It is learnt that the victim's husband has launched a search for her.

Closed-circuit television camera recordings from the victim's home showed at least four adbuctors, one armed with a pistol and another with a knife, were involved in the incident.

Some of the abductors wore masks and caps, and were seen bundling the woman into the car.

Her father tried to prevent the abduction but was warned away by the gunman.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Amran Dollah said the victim's father lodged a report at Palekbang police station yesterday evening.

He said the victim's father claimed that the woman was kidnapped by four men in a Toyota Vios.

Police are investigating the case under Section 363 of Penal Code for kidnapping.

It is learnt that several villagers who live along the border in Pengkalan Kubor saw the victim being dragged out from the car before being taken across the border yesterday morning.
