Perak police hunt for suspect in robbery case

BATU GAJAH: Police are on the hunt for a man suspected of robbing a beauty product boutique and escaping with valuables and cash worth RM7,000 in Jalan Pandak Akhat here.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said CCTV footage of the 3.30pm incident yesterday showed the man using an umbrella to threaten the owner, a woman, to hand over her cash and jewellery.

"The suspect is of medium height and thin. During the incident, he was wearing a grey long-sleeved shirt, black long pants, a black helmet with a dark visor, and white shoes.

"Police are trying to locate the suspect for further action," he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code, which carries up to 14 years' imprisonment, or whipping, or fine, upon conviction.
