Police probe viral video defaming preacher Ebit Lew

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed initiating an investigation into a viral video allegedly defaming preacher Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, known as Ebit Lew, for sexual assault claims by a women from a neighbouring country.

Subang Jaya deputy police chief confirmed receiving a police report from the preacher and said that the case was being investigated under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of Communications and Multimedia Act.

An interview went viral recently about a heavily tattooed woman from a neighbouring country who alleged the preacher sexually harassed her when she arrived in Malaysia earlier this year.

The video titled 'The Mondy Tattoo inteview' so far has been seen by over 200,000 viewers.
