Two Kelantan civil servants nabbed by MACC for making false claims involving RM18,000

KOTA BARU: Two Kelantan civil servants were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly making false claims totalling more than RM18,000 four years ago.

Sources said the man and woman were arrested between 9am to 1pm today.

"The male suspect was arrested when he was summoned to the Kelantan MACC headquarters to have his statement recorded about 9am today.

"The woman was detained at her home about 1pm," said the sources, adding the duo were nabbed for making claims for the supply of school equipment in 2019.

"Both, in their 50s, they allegedly made claims for supplies which were not delivered to the school," the sources said.

The sources said the man owned a company and he was believed to be in cahoots with the woman to submit three false claims to the school's authorities.

When contacted, Kelantan MACC director Rosli Husain confirmed the arrest.

The case is being investigated under Section 28(1)(C) and Section 18 of MACC Act 2009.
