IGP: Police have taken Mr H's statement over Agus video case

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded a statement from the mysterious 'Mr H', accused of being the mastermind behind an allegedly doctored video clip of a lewd exchange involving the former Community Communications (J-KOM) Department director-general and an aide.

Speaking to reporters, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the interrogation was done this morning.

However, Razarudin did not clarify the location where the questioning took place.

"We have taken Mr H's statement this morning," he told reporters after attending an event at Maktab PDRM in Cheras today.

The case came to light after a clip emerged on social media, showing then-J-KOM director-general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff and his staff Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani on a video call, engaged in a salacious conversation.

The two later held a press conference, Wahab had claimed that he was directed by a superior officer, referred to as 'Mr H' to record his conversation with Agus.

He claimed that the content of the video circulated on social media had differed from the actual conversation which took place.

Agus had previously submitted his resignation as the J-KOM director-general, a post he had assumed only in Feb this year, saying that he had received a new job offer.

Yesterday, some 20 media practitioners had gathered at the Presint 11 police station in Putrajaya, anticipating the appearance of Mr H.

They began gathering outside the station about 4.30pm and left past 8.30pm empty-handed.

The case is being investigated by the Federal Classified Crime Investigation Unit (D5) .

So far, three witnesses have had their statements recorded over the case, which is being probed under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
