J-Kom lewd video case: Police won't reveal Mr H's identity, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will not reveal the identity of "Mr H" in the defamation case involving former Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said there was no need to reveal the identity, especially since disclosing Mr H's identity would interfere with the ongoing investigation.

"Police, through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), have recalled Mr H today to have his statement recorded. So far, police have called eight individuals to help with the investigation," he said.

Razarudin said no others would be called in apart from the eight people involved.

"The investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers tomorrow in line with Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution," he said.

On Nov 16, a clip of Agus and a senior J-Kom officer, Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jailani, having a video call went viral on social media.

In the video, Agus was shown to have made lewd comments.

However, Agus claimed later that the video had been doctored, though he resigned his position.

At a special press conference regarding the issue, Wahab claimed that he was made a scapegoat to bring down Agus by an individual named Mr H.

Though Wahab also has not made public Mr H's true identity, it is speculated that he, too, is a senior J-Kom officer.
