Three Bangladeshis arrested for trespassing in empty apartment unit in Puchong

PUTRAJAYA: Police arrested three Bangladeshi nationals for breaking into an apartment unit in Puchong near here, yesterday.

Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the three men were arrested after the owner of the house made a report at the Ayer Putih police station in Kemaman, Terengganu and the report was forwarded to the Putra Perdana police station in Puchong.

He said, the report was received at 3.20pm yesterday after the owner found out that his residence, which had been left vacant for 10 years, had been taken over by the foreign nationals.

He said the arrest of the three Bangladeshi nationals aged 23 to 30 was made at 9pm at the house.

"The Bangladeshi nationals admitted to occupying the house for the past two months, by breaking the door lock and replacing it with a new one.

"The three will be brought to court this morning to obtain a remand order and the case will be investigated according to Section 448 of the Penal Code," he said when contacted today.

Last Sunday, a man was surprised to find that his friend's house in Puchong, which had been left empty for the past 10 years, had been 'invaded' and occupied by foreign nationals.

The man uploaded the story through his Facebook account, Srilabu Kedah, said the incident came to light after his friend, who lives in a state on the East Coast, asked him to sell the apartment unit.

However, he was surprised to find that the house was inhabited by foreigners and the matter was then informed to the owner of the house.
