Man to be charged for Bella's murder tomorrow

JOHOR BARU: A man who was detained in connection with the murder of Mila Sharmila Samsusah, also known as Bella, will be charged at the Batu Pahat magistrate's court tomorrow.

Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder is expected to take place at 9am.

The case grabbed headlines nationwide after her remains were found in an abandoned rented house in Kampung Batu 7, Tongkang Pechah, Batu Pahat, on Jan 19, more than a month after she had gone missing.

Bella, 32, is a single mother.

The man who will be charged tomorrow is one of three people detained by police in the woman's murder.

Bella, who was a single mother of children aged two and four, had allegedly left her house in dark blue batik attire, using her boyfriend's car to go to a launderette at 11.50pm on Dec 14.

It was reported that she went missing and her mobile phone was unreachable, with WhatsApp messages indicating only one checkmark.

Surprisingly, the clothes intended for washing at the launderette were found in Bella's house the day after she was reported missing.

Following Bella's disappearance, her family members filed two police reports on Dec 16 and 18 at the Batu Pahat district police headquarters.
