'Goodbye dear Bella, I will demand for justice'

BATU PAHAT: "Goodbye dear Bella. I love you so very much. I will seek justice for your death."

These were the words from Norhisham Samsusah, 36, whose younger sister, Mila Sharmila was allegedly murdered.

Norisham said this on Facebook on the day when police confirmed that the human remains found in a dilapidated house here recently belonged to Mila Sharmila, who was affectionately known as Bella.

Norhisham said it still hurt a lot because by right, Mila Sharmila, 32, should be alive.

"By right we should still be together."

Police today said a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test has confirmed that the remains found in a house in Kampung Batu 7, Tongkang Pechah near here on Jan 19 was Bella's.

Norhisham, who goes by the nickname Ayu, received the sad news at around 6.20pm after being contacted by the police who informed the family about the DNA test result.

"This is a very painful loss. It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the DNA test confirmed that the remains are that of Bella. Our family is going through a very difficult time.

"Tomorrow her remains will be claimed at the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) in the morning and we will bring her remains back to Batu Pahat for burial at the Banang Jaya Muslim cemetery.

"Her remains will be brought to Masjid Dato Bentara. I invite all who knew her, including friends and colleagues and all Batu Pahat folk to come to pray for Bella for one last time," said Norhisham.

She said she was grateful for all the efforts made by various quarters which led to her sister's remains to be found, despite the case being a horrific tragedy.

The comments section on Norhisham's Facebook account was filled with messages of condolences and words of encouragement.

"Hopefully you and your family remain strong when going through this 'Qada' and Qadar'. Honour her legacy, which will be thing you will remember her by."

Earlier, Batu Pahat district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah had confirmed that the remains found in the house was of Bella's. He had said there was a match in the DNA samples taken from her mother and sister.
