Jempol district police chief, Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook, said that the woman was known as Fauziah Abdul Hamid, 39, whose last known address was Taman Alam Budiman, Shah Alam, Selangor.

He said that the woman was being sought after to aid and facilitate investigations under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

On December 25, NST reported that the family of the bride had to prepare and cook all the food for the guests at the wedding reception themselves at the eleventh hour after the caterer did not show up.

The bride had already paid RM13,200 to the caterer and wedding planner to provide food for 1,000 guests apart from the dais and the wedding attire for the bride and groom.

Hoo revealed that the bride was a victim of cheating after making arrangements online to procure wedding package services.

He said that the victim had made three progressive payments online to a wedding planner from Shah Alam.

He explained that police had also procured information from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) about the said company, wedding planner.

Based on information from SSM, he said that the catering company was registered under a man's name, believed to be the husband, while business dealings were carried out by the woman.
