KOTA KINABALU: A couple riding the 'Octopus Ride' at a funfair suffered injuries when they were thrown off the ride near the Likas Sports Complex last night.
The incident occurred at 8.55pm when the man and woman fell from the ride while it was in motion.
The incident was caught on camera by several funfair visitors and has since gone viral on social media platforms.
Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) head, Deputy Superintendent I Ordine Gilu said they received an emergency call at 8.58pm.
A team was immediately dispatched to the scene.
"The firemen, including Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) officers, arrived at the scene minutes later and provided first aid to the injured victims before they were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment," he said.
