Ex-wife of Safee Sali worried about her children's whereabouts after the latter took them away [NSTTV]

SHAH ALAM: The wife of former national football player Mohd Safee Mohd Sali, also known as Safee Sali, has expressed concerns regarding the whereabouts of her two children.

Fitria Elfina, 44, said she misses her children, Shania Safina and Shanika Salsabila, aged seven and nine, after being taken away by Safee on Feb 6.

"It's been over a month since I last communicated with my children. I don't even know where my children are right now," she added.

She said she only knew about her children's situation through a letter left in her husband's car on Feb 28.

"He (Safee) did come a few weeks ago to take the children's belongings, but he left through the back door and took an e-hailing vehicle.

"His car was left at my house, so I took the spare key and saw a letter stating that the children missed me.

"The letter also states that the children there are uncomfortable because someone is angry," she said when met at the Syariah High Court compound here today.

Fitria Elfina was accompanied by her lawyer, Amir Syazwan Ahmad Fauzi, to undergo the mediation process for joint custody rights with Safee.

Fitria Elfina said she was determined to file for custody rights after her relationship with both of them ended a month ago.

"I want to fight for my children because I have taken care of them 100 per cent.

"I have never been separated from my children, this is the first time we have been separated," she said.

Meanwhile, Amir Syazwan said that today's mediation process failed when both parties could not reach an agreement.

"Today's mediation process for the custody rights case was unsuccessful.

"We will proceed with the re-mention of the custody rights claim case, which will take place on May 9," he said, declining to comment further.

He said the mention for the confirmation of the divorce pronouncement for the couple is expected to take place at the Kuala Selangor Sharia Lower Court at 9am tomorrow.

Earlier, Safee, wearing a black T-shirt, face mask, and black sunglasses, was seen accompanied by his lawyer, refusing to entertain the media as he hurriedly left the courthouse premises.

Safee and Fitria Elfina were married on Dec 21, 2013, before being blessed with two daughters.
