Cops detain teens for revving modified motorcycles in residential area

AMPANG JAYA: Police detained a group of teenagers for making a big racket in a residential area by revving their modified motorcycles early yesterday morning.

In a statement last night, Ampang Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said they received complaints about the noise created by the teenagers who had modified the exhaust of their motorcycles.

A total of 12 motorcycles were seized and 67 summonses were issued for various traffic offences.

"We would like to remind everyone against activities that disturb the peace," he said, adding people should always ensure the wellbeing of those around them.
