KLIA shooting: Suspect to be charged in KB court tomorrow

KOTA BARU: The man who allegedly tried to kill his wife at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 on April 13 is expected to be charged in court here tomorrow.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the 38-year-old was expected to be charged in the Sessions Court in the morning.

"From Kota Baru court, the suspect will be brought to Sepang court for another charge," he said.

Yesterday, police obtained a further five-day remand order against the suspect.

The remand order which ends on April 26, was obtained from magistrate Ahmad Syafiq Aizat Nazri.

Before this, the suspect was remanded for seven days to assist police investigation into the case.

In the incident On April 13, the man fired two shots, believed to have been aimed at his wife.

One of the shots hit his wife's bodyguard. The victim is being treated in hospital.

A nationwide manhunt was launched for the man, who was arrested two days later.
