Owner of bag with over RM500,000 yet to be determined, says cops

SHAH ALAM: Police are still looking for the owner of a pink-and-white luggage bag filled with over half a million ringgit, which was left at a shopping mall's parking lot in Damansara on March 20.

Selangor deputy police chief Datuk Sasikala Devi Subramaniam said they are awaiting forensic reports to identify the owner of the fingerprints on the bag.

She said that the police had summoned 10 people to provide statements, including the owner of an information technology company that claimed ownership of the money.

"So, we are still waiting for witnesses to show the source of the money.

"It may take some time (before determining the owner of the money)," she said.

On March 20, it was reported that a security guard at a Damansara shopping centre found the luggage bag in the parking lot containing cash exceeding RM500,000.
