SEREMBAN: A woman and her children riding a motorcycle were victims of snatch theft in Taman Bandar Senawang, here, yesterday.
A 16-second closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident went viral on X, showing the suspect snatching the bracelet from the 33-year-old woman.
Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the incident occurred at 12.30pm when the suspect, also on a motorcycle, targeted the woman for her gold jewellery.
He said the woman was riding on Jalan Dareca 2 with her children when the suspect, believed to be a local man riding a blue Yamaha 125Z, approached them suddenly and grabbed the bracelet.
He said the woman fortunately managed to maintain control of her motorcycle and avoided an accident. Neither she nor her children sustained any injuries.
Police are currently pursuing the suspect, and the case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code.
