Mohd Gazali Jala appointed as Perak state secretary

PUTRAJAYA: Perak financial officer Datuk Mohd Gazali Jalal has been appointed as the state secretary, effective June 5.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa announced this today, saying Gazali had served in the public service sector for 35 years. He first joined the Administration and Diplomatic Service (PTD) on Jan 3, 1983.

"He has vast experience in finance, land management and regional administration," he said in a statement.

Aside from his post as the state financial officer, Ali said Gazali was also the former Kuala Kangsar district officer and Perak Land and Mines deputy director.

Gazali has an honours degree in Biology/Micro from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Ali also expressed the government's appreciation to Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan for all his contributions when he held the Perak state secretary post.

Puhat, who is also Perak Football Association president, has contested in the 14th general election for the Parit Buntar parliamentary seat but lost to Pakatan Harapan candidate Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof.
