Security guard killed in crash near Felda Belara

KUALA TERENGGANU: A man riding a motorcycle was killed after colliding with a car near Felda Belara, on Sunday.

A police spokesman said in the 9.22am incident, the victim, Mohd Khalid A. Rahman, a security guard at Sekolah Sukan Bukit Nenas in Tepoh, died on the spot due to serious head and body injuries.

The Perodua MyVi's driver escaped unhurt.

"It was learnt that the MyVi, driven by a 21-year-old man from Kampung Temiang in Marang, had lost control of his car and skidded into the opposite lane before colliding head-on with the victim's motorcycle," he said.

He said the victim, riding from Sungai Tong in Setiu, was on his way to Kuala Terengganu.

"The victim's body was sent to the Setiu Hospital for post mortem," he said.

The case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
