BATU KAWAN: DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang today said he has no plan to entertain a claim by Pas that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had approached the Islamic party first before deciding to work with DAP.
He said he would rather not give thought to the 'fairy tales' uttered by Pas.
"I do not want to entertain on such tales and stories. We have been labelled with all sorts of things.
"We are not interested in that. We are keen for a healthy and clean politics.
"We have to be mature in order to move forward rather than getting excited over all sorts of misconceptions," he said during the 'Jelajah Desa Bersama Lim Kit Siang' programme at a food court in Taman Seri Delima here today.
Lim added that there was no need for a closed door meeting with the former prime minister to clear the air on the matter.
He was commenting on a report, quoting Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang's political secretary Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar who said that Dr Mahathir had initially approached Hadi and complained about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak before going to the DAP.
The meeting, Dr Ahmad said took place about a year ago and the two leaders discussed various issues including corruption and 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
During the meeting, he claimed that Dr Mahathir had even said that DAP was a “chauvinist party”.
However, not long after that, the Pas learnt that Dr Mahathir and DAP had struck up an alliance.
Dr Mahathir then formed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and joined the Pakatan Harapan. Following this, Dr Ahmad said Pas was no longer interested in working with the former PM.
