KUALA LUMPUR: Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam expressed his appreciation to all workers with the Health Ministry in ensuring the health of Malaysians remains top priority, in conjunction with Labour Day.

“This celebration is to recognise the contribution of all workers to the development of the country and in appreciation of all employers who contribute to building a productive, informative, disciplined and responsive community.

“With this year Labour Day’s theme, ‘Creative Workers the Impetus for Innovation’, I hope that we strive to remain productive and competitive in providing excellent service,” he said in a statement.

He said all workers of the ministry, from doctors to nurses and medical assistants, should strive to become more creative and innovative in delivering their services.

“Innovation is an important element in an organisation such as the Health Ministry which is always dealing with people.

“It helps the development in various aspects, especially in the aspects of modernising and improving the management of public health and in updating methods for effective service delivery in accordance with current requirements,” he said.

He said workers’ creativity in providing the best service was able to spark value-added innovation.

“It is undeniable that productive and creative workers are the result of a healthy and fit working class.
