KUALA LUMPUR: A nine-year-old boy was killed when he fell from the 10th floor of an apartment in Selayang Mulia today.
A passer-by who found the victim's body alerted Gombak police of the incident at 1.40pm.
Police said the victim was believed to be playing with his friend either on the ninth or 10th floor of the apartment around 1pm.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ali Ahmad said when the victim’s friend returned home on the 10th floor, the victim was nowhere to be seen.
He said police were still trying to determine how the incident had occurred.
“Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain how and where exactly it happened. So far, we have no witness.”
Ali said the boy's body has been sent to Selayang Hospital for a post-mortem.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
