SHAH ALAM: A single-storey building housing the Narcotics Department of the Section 15 police station here was badly destroyed in a fire early this morning.
Assistant Director of Operations of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, Mohd Sani Harul, said they received a distress call on the incident at 3.43am and that a team of 21 personnel from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station was rushed to the location, together with three engines.
On arrival at the scene, they found that the fire was at its height and spreading rapidly.
"The fire personnel managed to control the fire about one hour later.
“The operation ended at about 7am and no casualty was reported," Mohd Sani said in a statement here today.
He said further inspection found that the fire caused 60 per cent damage to the building. -- Bernama
