Tabung Haji signs corruption-free pledge, aims for ISO 37001 certification

KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji today signed a Corruption Free Pledge, witnesses by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Its chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and 97 others including state directors and heads of departments signed the pledge before MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad.

To strengthen its integrity, Tabung Haji is also working towards obtaining the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) ISO 37001 certification by sending its officers to the ABMS ISO 37001 documentation workshop.

Dzulkifli commended Tabung Haji on the initiative.

“As a body which assists Muslims in carrying out their religious responsibilities, it is apt that Tabung Haji be in the front line to fight corruption,” he said.

Abdul Azeez said although there were very few corruption cases in Tabung Haji, strengthening its integrity was needed to ensure its employees carry out their responsibilities at a level expected of the institution.

“We are serious in fighting corruption, which began with the signing of Corporate Integrity Pledge in April 2012 followed by the formation of the Integrity Division in October 2013,” he said.
