MUIP allocates RM3.5 million Hari Raya aid to help the needy

KUANTAN: The Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) will allocate RM3.5 million worth of aid to 8,000 heads of households for their Hari Raya preparation.

About 3,000 of them are expected to receive the aid every month in the form of a RM200 coupon and cash between RM200 and RM600.

The remaining heads of households will receive aid during Hari Raya Aidilfitri itself.

MUIP deputy president Datuk Seri Wan Abdul Wahid Wan Hassan said the coupon can only be redeemed at Pasaraya Darul Makmur here to avoid misuse.

He said this during a visit to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) here today, where he handed out RM104,000 worth of aid in cash and hampers to 400 patients.

"This visit forms part of MUIP's annual programme at selected hospitals in Pahang," he said, adding that the programme is held every two months.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients, Mohd Salleh Che Busu, 52, expressed gratitude for the aid as he is a regular patient at the hospital.

He said the donation was very timely as the Hari Raya celebrations is drawing near.

Also present was HTAA director Datuk Dr Ardi Awang.

It is learnt that MUIP will visit Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HOSHAS) in Temerloh on June 15
