KULIM: A couple was killed in an accident involving three cars and a lorry along Jalan Kulim-Baling trunk road near Kampung Paya Serdang today.
Robiah Mat Saman, 54 and her husband Razak Saari, 66, from Kampung Padang Cina, Kulim, died on the spot in the 3pm crash.
Kulim Hi-Tech Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Azizi Abdullah said other victims involved in the crash were pulled out from their vehicles by passers-by before being rushed to the Kulim Hospital.
"The couple were pronounced dead by an ambulance staff and we helped to extricate their bodies from the mangled Proton Wira." he said.
It was still unclear how the accident occurred.
