Crash survivor Alifthaqif, 3, is fit to be discharged from hospital soon

KUALA PILAH: Survivor of horrific accident, toddler Muhammad Alifthaqif Osman is expected to be discharged from Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital here today.

Alifthaqif, 3, was warded the day after he came out alive from a four-vehicle pile-up that killed his parents and six others at Km25 Bahau-Keratongon road on Sunday.

His maternal aunt Norzeha Othman, 28, said he was now under the care of her husband Mohd Syafiq Mohd Said, 28, at the hospital.

She said Alifthaqif would be brought back to her house in Jalan Mersing Endau Johor.

“The doctor says he’s fit to be discharged and can continue treatment at home.

“We are planning to bring him to Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor Baru for follow up treatments,” she said.

Alifthaqif , who was badly injured in the crash, became an orphan with the death of his parent Osman Mohamed Taip, 31, and Rosniza Othman, 32.

Norzeha said, her nephew had been responding well to the treatment, with plaster casts had been fitted on his broken left hand and leg, yesterday.

“My nephew had an X-ray on his head yesterday and the result came out clear.

“I am so relieved and now I just can’t wait to bring him home to care for him. He is a strong boy and I believe he will get better soon,” she said.

The crash also killed a family of six - Wan Mohd Fauzi Wan Ibrahim, 51, his wife Mas Noraida M Yusoff, 45 and their four children: Wan Muhamad Iskandar, 22, Wan Nor Atirah, 18, Wan Mohamad Amar Haziq, 13 and Wan Nor Alisha, 7, who were trapped in their multi-purpose vehicle when it burst into flames.
