GEORGE TOWN: Hundreds of relatives and friends of brutal group attack victim T. Nhaveen have gathered at the Batu Gantung Funeral Parlour here to pay their last respects.

Many began gathering since 9am today, some with bouquets of flowers in hand.

Nhaveen’s mother, D. Shanti, appeared calm as she accepted the condolences of visitors as they poured in to the premises.

The funeral procession is expected to start at about 2pm.

18-year-old Nhaveen died after slipping into a coma at the Penang Hospital on Saturday.

Nhaveen, 18 and his friend T. Previin, 19, were teased and attacked by a group of teens while they were on their way home from Jalan Kaki Bukit here during the early morning incident.

Previin also sustained serious injuries and has undergone surgery to his right eye. He is reportedly stable.
