KUBANG PASU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today stopped to visit a disabled couple at Kampung Kodiang Lama Luar before breaking fast with the congregation at Masjid Kampung Pering here.

Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor spent about 10 minutes to check on the couple, Osman Jusoh, 77, and Siti Zabidah Saidin, 69, both who have been bedridden for decades.

Najib presented his personal donation to the couple and also the state government’s Barakah food pack.

The elderly couple relied on their only child Intan Zulina, 31, who makes a living selling nasi lemak.

Intan said her parents were excited when told that the Prime Minister and his wife were visiting them.

“My mother smiled when I told her about the visit.

“I am grateful and humbled by the Prime Minister’s visit. It brought cheer to my ailing parents,” she said.

Intan said both her parents were born normal but her father suffered from high fever when he was young, causing him to be paralysed after, and her mother has been bedridden for almost 20 years after a fall.

The single mother of three young children said she has been taking care of her parents since she was 16.
