Missing 9 at Ulu Segama Forest Reserve found safe

KINABATANGAN: All nine persons missing from the Ulu Segama Forest Reserve have been found safe at 1.20pm this afternoon.

District police chief Superintendent A. Sahak Rahmat confirmed the discovery, thus completing the search for the total 14 who went missing at the forest reserve last week.

“At the moment I can’t say the exact location they were found, but efforts to bring them back are being done,” he said when contacted.

Earlier at 10.15am this morning, five of the original group who went missing since last Wednesday were found at Balat plantation, where the search and rescue (SAR) were alerted by plantation workers.

The five Kampung Paris 1 villagers did not return from their fishing trip at Sg Bilong there, and a group of nine men from the same village were sent out to trace them on Friday but also failed to return home, prompting a police report to be made on Sunday.
