Police arrest aide to DAP assemblyman for alleged sexual assault

GEORGE TOWN: Police have arrested the aide of a DAP assemblyman for allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old waitress at a car park of an entertainment outlet in Lebuh Pantai yesterday.

Northeast District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar told the press in a statement that the man in his 50s was detained.

He said that the man was undergoing urine test and that he will be remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Based on the police report, the victim claimed that the man, who is a former councillor, sexually assaulted her at a car park at Lebuh Pantai.

After taking her outside, she claimed that he hugged and kissed her and forced her to perform oral sex, which she refused.

He pleasured himself and later offered money (up to RM700) for her to spend the night with him. She refused and left.

The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage modesty.
