Entrepreneur fetes children from Kuala Terengganu orphanage to seafood feast

KUALA TERENGGANU: The spirit of giving this Aidilfitri continues as Manhattan Fish Market here held a small but hearty do for 15 students and two teachers from the Tahfiz Ar-Rusd orphanage in Pasir Panjang.

The proprietor of Manhattan Fish Market, Muhammad Fazzree Wan Pauzi, said it was part of his duty to give back to society.

“I feel it is a duty for entrepreneurs like us to give back to society and we feel blessed to serve those who are less fortunate.

“We hold many other corporate social responsibility programmes from time to time, as our way to thank our patrons,” said Fazzree, whose franchise outlet here offers job opportunities for local-born youths.

The orphans, aged between nine and 16 years, were accompanied by ustaz Wan Ghazali Wan Mohamad and Ahmad Fakhrul Razi Hassan as they tucked into specially prepared lamb stew and crab curry, apart from standard menu items.

Fazzree said it was the second treat for the orphans after a similar one was held for them in January this year.

He added that as part of the ‘Visit Beautiful Terengganu 2017’, his outlet was offering special discounts for the Aidilfitri and pre-Merdeka celebrations on its Mediterranean seafood platters, among others.

On behalf of his charges, Ghazali thanked Fazzree and his team for their gesture which brought cheers to the children.

“We always revere such hospitality as the children can ill afford to treat themselves at a modern eatery like this.

“They greatly appreciate Fazzree for having a thought for them during the festive season,” said Ghazali.
