Photos of biker's gruesome accident makes rounds on social media

KULAI: A 53-year old biker died after his body was mangled and crushed by vehicles after falling off his vehicle at Km26.9 of North-south expressway near Kulai about 9.30am today.

It didn’t take long for photos of the bloody scene to be circulated through social media.

Moh Halmi Haroon, a contractor, was on his way from his home in Taman Lim Poon in Batu Pahat to meet a friend in Johor Baru when he was involved in the gruesome accident near the Kulai exit.

According to district police chief Superintendant Razak Md Said, Moh Halmi had been trying to evade collision with a car which was on the fast lane.

He said the victim, however, crashed into the rear of the car and was flung into the air before landing on the left lane.

"Several oncoming vehicles, which we are still identifying, ran over the victim," said Razak.

Police who went to the scene, recovered Moh Halmi's remains and he was sent to Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital, Kulai.

The victim’s biker, Jaafar Sup, 51, said he was shocked to find out about Moh Halmi's death through a riders’ WhatsApp group.

"We later confirmed it and about 20 of us decided to gather here at the mortuary to pay our last respects.

"He was friendly and caring," he said, adding that Moh Halmi's family has been notified of the incident and were on their way here from Batu Pahat.
