BELURAN: Two people were killed when their motorcycle collided with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle along Jalan Beluran-Telupid near Sandakan yesterday.
Sudirman Muhamnad, 27 and pillion rider, identified only as Fendi, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
In the 3.20pm incident, the victims were headed to Telupid when their motorcycle crashed head-on with the 4WD coming from the opposite direction.
District police chief Superintendent V. Shivananthan said the collision caused one of the victims to be thrown to the roadside.
“Both were pronounced dead by a medical team and the bodies were sent to the district hospital for post-mortems.
“The case will be investigated under Section 44 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he added.
