KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil today took a swipe at “a handful of people” who criticised Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s visits to the United States and the United Kingdom.
Congratulating the prime minister on the success of the two visits, she said the successful visits were not only recognitions of Malaysia’s success on the world stage but also the highest honour for Najib.
“Wanita Umno is confident that these visits are beneficial to the nation and rakyat as the visits have strengthened the diplomatic relationship and the country’s economy with support from the two nations.
“Wanita Umno thinks the handful of people who have criticised the visits are those who are frustrated and jealous of the success of Najib on the world stage.
“I hope these critics with third class mentality will realise the success and importance of the prime minister’s visits to the United States and the United Kingdom for (Malaysia) to achieve the status of a developed nation,” she said in a statement.
