Man falls to death, believed to be taking 'selfie' at Genting Highlands

KUANTAN: A 20-year-old man died after he fell from the 16th floor of a hotel in Genting Highlands near here today.

Bentong district police chief Supt Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor said in the 2.50pm incident, the victim P. Kanesh Naidu, died instantly when he landed on the seventh floor of the hotel building.

“It is believed that he had climbed a wall on the 16th floor of the hotel’s car park to take photographs when he slipped and fell.

“The victim died of severe head and body injuries, consistent with falls from a great height,” he said when contacted here, today.

Mohamad Mansor added that the victim a restaurant worker from Taman Sri Sinar, Kuala Lumpur came to the resort together with three friends.

He said when the incident happened his friends were still in the car and the victim was believed to have ventured out alone at the parking lot.

Mohamad Mansor added that initial investigations showed there was no foul play involved. --Bernama
