Customs Department announces new appointments of 7 senior officers

PUTRAJAYA: The Customs Department announced Friday the appointments of seven senior officers in the department.

In a statement released today, effective Oct 10, the department said Datuk Abdul Latif Abdul Kadir, who is currently the director of the compliance management division, has been appointed as the new Customs deputy director-general in charge of the Good and Services Tax (GST) division.

His previous position has been assumed by Zazuli Johan, who is the former director of the Customs prosecution division.

As for the current Royal Malaysian Customs Academy (AKMAL) director Datuk Azimah Abd Hamid will be appointed as the deputy director-general (enforcement), while Datuk Soria Osman will take over as the new director of AKMAL.

Their appointments will take effect on Nov 9.

Mohammad Hamiddan Maryani is appointed as the new Johor Customs director, the statement read.

Other appointments are new KLIA Customs director Abdul Wahabi Abdullah and Customs technical division director Iskandar Bin Jaafar, who will start his duties on Nov 9.
