New school for Saujana Utama proof BN keeps its promises: PM

SUNGAI BULOH: Barisan Nasional (BN) always makes good on its promises – and the most recent example of this is the upcoming construction of an additional secondary school in Saujana Utama here to support the area’s student population.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced that a tender for the RM57.6 million development of SMK Saujana Utama 2, Kuala Selangor is out – which constitutes the fulfilment of a promise Najib made when he was last in the district.

“This means that what I promised during my last visit has been kept,” he said while addressing a crowd at the MyBN (My Beautiful Neighbourhood) gotong-royong campaign at a pasar tani in Saujana Utama.

The Prime Minister even teased the crowd by asking them whose promise it was and for whom it was intended – to which the crowd replied “Barisan Nasional” and “the people,” respectively.

Kuala Selangor Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim said the school was promised by Najib when he visited the area in 2013, when the local community and teachers at SMK Saujana Utama (1) highlighted that schools in the area were operating beyond their capacity.

“Najib announced today that their request has been fulfilled, together with allocations for the operations of the schools.

“This is not empty talk, but the truth, and is good news for people here,” Dr Irmohizam said, adding that the matter had been weighed by both the government and the Economic Planning Unit.
