PLUS patrol officer killed in Rembau crash

REMBAU: A North-South Expressway (PLUS) patrol officer was killed in a two-vehicle crash at KM231 of the highway’s northbound stretch, here this evening.

The victim, identified as Mohd Nazri Aziz, 28, from Muar, Johor, sustained serious injuries in the incident which occurred at 4pm.

Tampin Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Roslan Sharani said another patrol officer, who is also the deceased's colleague, sustained light injuries in the accident.

“Nine firemen were deployed to the scene, including a team from the Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS). A team from Seremban Fire and Rescue Department was also dispatched at the scene to assist with the rescue operation.

“Upon arrival, we found a man lying unconscious under the lorry. He was pronounced dead by the medical team,” he said.

He added that a lorry driver and a lorry conductor were also found pinned in their seats. Firemen took about six minutes to extricate from their vehicle.

“The lorry conductor suffered severe injuries to his face. The victims were sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Seremban (TJH) for further treatment,” he said.
