2018 Budget: Generating income for the people

KUALA LUMPUR: RM100 million will be allocated to expand the eRezeki, eUsahawan and eLadang Programme to be managed by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.

The government, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said, will allocate RM120 million to 1,000 1Malaysia Food Truck and 1Malaysia Mobile Food Kiosk entrepreneurs to be distributed by Bank Rakyat and Bank Simpanan Nasional with a subsidised interest rate of four per cent.

Another RM60 million will be given to the 1Azam programme including RM10 million each for Sabah and Sarawak.

“A total of RM25 million has been allocated for the Three Wheel Motorcycle Programme under the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority, GiatMara mobilepreneur programme and MyAGROSIS,” he said.

Najib also announced a RM5 million grant for taxi drivers to purchase new vehicles and intend to convert to e-hailing services.
