Pas president skips 2018 Budget over health issues

KUALA TERENGGANU: Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang failed to attend the tabling of the 2018 Budget in Parliament today, citing health reasons.

His private secretary, Zaihan Daud, said the Marang member of parliament was resting after undergoing a follow-up treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) here, yesterday.

“Hadi could not attend the tabling because he is still resting. Yesterday, he visited IJN for a follow-up treatment after undergoing a heart surgery in May,” said Zaihan when contacted today.

He said despite not being able to go to Parliament, Hadi followed closely the tabling of the budget by watching the live telecast on the television.

“However, he (Hadi) will be attending the Parliament sitting next Tuesday to debate the budget. Please pray for his health.”
