Floods will not disrupt SPM at two schools in Kedah

ALOR STAR: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates at two schools in Kedah will sit for the examination at their respective schools despite both being affected by the floods.

It is learnt both schools were under just above ankle deep water following heavy rain that hit the state since Friday morning.

State Education Committee chairman Datuk Tajul Urus Mat Zain said the situation at both schools was still manageable and therefore the examination centres there would be maintained.

He said the state Education Department was closely monitoring the situation.

“We have decided that the two examination centres will not be moved elsewhere. Candidates at both schools will sit for the examination at the schools,” he said in a statement.

Tajul said he would chair a meeting on the flood situation with other officials from the department this evening to decide on the next course of action.
