PM arrives in Brunei for annual leaders' consultation

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived here this evening for the 21st Malaysia-Brunei Annual Leaders’ Consultation scheduled to be held at Istana Nurul Iman, tomorrow.

The special aircraft with the prime minister aboard touched down at the Brunei International Airport at 6.20pm.

On hand to welcome him were Brunei Education Minister Datuk Seri Setia Awang Suyoi Osman and Foreign Minister and Second Trade Minister Datuk Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng.

It is learnt that after the meeting with the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, tomorrow, the prime minister will be feted to a feast at the palace.

Earlier today, Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Datuk Ghulam Jelani Khanizaman told reporters ties between the two countries were at a “very good level” and that among the matters that will be discussed would be the Pan Borneo Highway and cooperation in the defence, tourism and oil and gas sectors. --BERNAMA
