Group receives RM205m in dividends

THE Yayasan Sabah Group has received dividends amounting to RM204.9 million from its 13 subsidiary and associate companies.

The dividends were from the financial periods of 2016 and 2017.

Its group director, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, said higher dividend yields were crucial to fulfil the group’s corporate objectives of complementing the state government’s efforts in bringing socio-economic progress to Sabahans.

“The key performance indicators should be further improved to ensure the companies continue to perform well and contribute to the foundation financially.

“The overall success of each company will be determined by its ability to consistently improve on its profits, increase shareholder’s value and implement demonstrable growth strategies,” he said.

All of the 13 companies’ officials attended a ceremony to present cheques for the dividends to the foundation on Saturday.

Present was Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, who is also Yayasan Sabah Board of Trustees chairman.
