Actor's disturbing social media posts catch attention of FT mufti

KUALA LUMPUR: The bizarre and disturbing social media posts of actor Iqram Dinzly, who is struggling to cope with the recent death of his father, has caught the attention of Federal Territory mufti Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad al-Bakri.

Zulkifli recently issued an open letter to the artiste, in which he said: "Bring yourself closer to the Quran and keep reciting dhikr (remembrance of God)."

Uploaded to Zulkifli’s Facebook page, the letter added that only by remembering Allah SWT and being close to Him can one’s heart become content.

Zulkifli also invited Iqram to meet him at his office to discuss his situation.

“There might be something that we can work out to help Iqram. He can reach me via my Twitter account @drzul_albakri, or Instagram @drzulkifli.albakri,” he said in the letter.

The mufti also said that he had been informed of Iqram’s loss and offered his condolences on the passing of his father, Muhammad Saipuddin Datuk Seri Ahmad Sai.

“May Allah give him the courage to face the challenges in his life,” Zulkifli added.

Iqram has raised controversy and concerns among netizens with his strange and cryptic social media photos, videos and posts in recent weeks. Many of the posts have received negative comments from social media users, with some believing that he has joined a mysterious cult.

Iqram’s father passed away on Oct 10 after suffering from a stroke, diabetes and hypertension.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Iqram responded positively to Zulkifli’s invitation for a meeting, saying that he would be comfortable meeting the mufti with his mother by his side.

According to Iqram, his mother is still struggling with the lost.
