Sabah Health Department confirms receiving another complaint about imitation milk

KOTA KINABALU: The State Health Department has confirmed receiving another complaint about a milk product believed to be imitation which caused health problems to children consuming it.

However director Datuk Christina Rundi refused to comment further, simply stating that they will continue investigating the claim.

“So far, the sample has been taken and another report was received from other district.

“Complaints are received from many areas in the country and we will not comment separately on this issue at this stage as investigation is being conducted on a wide scale,” she said when contacted.

Sabah Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry Office head enforcement officer Yahya Sujak meanwhile said his party has contacted the individual who claimed her nephew suffered health problems after consuming a milk product.

However they could not get the milk as evidence.

“We contacted the person last night and asked for clarification but they had thrown it away,” he said, adding that the public should take the proof to the authorities instead of posting it on the social media first.

Previously, a woman claimed her nephew suffered from fever and swollen body after consuming a milk product bought from a supermarket in Kota Belud.
