Only 200 first-class PSD-sponsored grads to be offered PTD posts

PUTRAJAYA: The Public Services Department (PSD) today has clarified that only 200 first-class PSD-sponsored graduates will be offered the post of Administration and Diplomatic Officers (PTD) for this year's intake.

In a statement earlier, the department also said some 500 posts out of 750 offered this year, will be opened to other students and officers who are already serving in the public service.

"Priority will be given to JPA-sponsored students with excellent achievements in academic and curriculum activities.

"This is in hope that these students will be able to contribute to the public service sector and the country in the future," the statement read.

The department also hoped that with this clarification, conflicting reports in regards to the appointment of PTD officers on several news portals can be resolved.

It was reported last month that only first-class PSD-sponsored graduates will be offered the post of PTD in the civil service for the July and August intake this year.

To date, there are 10,000 PTD officers throughout the country.
