NSTP wins five awards at PKNS Media Night

SHAH ALAM: Harian Metro of the New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd’s (NSTP) tonight won five awards at the PKNS Media Night organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).

NSTP journalist, Firdaus Hashim started the ball rolling when he won the Best Sports News Award. This was followed by NSTP photrographer Roslela Ismail taking home the Best Picture Award and NSTP Shah Alan bureau stringer Ayusliza Azizan winning the Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) news report.

In addition to the top place finishing, NSTP Shah Alam bureau based stringers Siti Nor Amirah Abu Bakar won second place for Best Corporate News Awards, while Amrullah Abdul Karim, was placed third for the Best Picture Award.

All of them took home trophy’s and cash prizes which presented by PKNS Chief Executive Officer Datin Noraida Mohd Yusof.

Also present was Berita Harian Executive Editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman, Harian Metro Executive Editor Tuan Mohamad Asri Tuan Hussein and Malaysian Press Institute trustee and secretary Datuk Mustapa Omar.

Meanwhile, Noraida said ‘The PKNS with Media Night’ was held to recognise and show appreciation to media practitioners who helped PKNS strengthen its brand and reputation.

She said PKNS held the event for the second time, to further strengthen cooperation between PKNS and media agencies.

"PKNS appreciates the contributions of media partners through the high-value writing in delivering their news which is the medium of communication between this organisation and the community at large.”
