BAYAN LEPAS: Two motorcyclists, who were too engrossed looking at an accident on the opposite side of the road, ended up colliding into each other at Jalan Bayan Lepas here today.
The motorcyclists - a 16-year-old student and a 40-year-old man - were heading towards Sungai Tiram about 4.30pm when the incident happened.
The accident on the opposite side of the road involved a policeman who rammed into a stationary factory bus.
Southwest district police chief Superintendent A. Anbalagan said having most of their attention on the accident, the two motorcyclists collided with each other and sustained minor injuries.
“The student was sent to the Penang Hospital while the other victim received treatment at a nearby clinic,” he said.
Anbalan said as for the crash involving the policeman, the victim was attempting to dodge another vehicle in front of him before his motorcycle hit the back of the factory bus,” he added.
