KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign worker was killed while five others seriously injured after they were crushed by steel beams which collapsed at a construction site this morning.
The workers, from Bangladesh and Indonesia, were having their break when the beams fell on them at the site in Jalan Kenanga 9, Kawasan Perindustrian Bukit Beruntung here about 10.10am.
The victims were aged between 24 to 30.
A witness, who only wished to be known as Sarthis, 40, said the incident happened during strong winds.
“I heard a loud rumbling sound and the next thing I knew the steel beams which had been erected to hold up a building which is under construction collapsed.
“I screamed as loud as I could to warn them but it was already too late,” he said.
