PADANG TERAP: Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid says he is pleased with the overall results of the 2017 SPM examination, which saw an improvement in the National Average Grade to 4.90 from 5.05 in 2016.

He said improvements were seen in all subjects, especially Bahasa Melayu, English, Islamic Studies and History.

“I am also pleased to see that science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Additional Science registered improvement, despite Biology showing a slight decline.

“A full, detailed report will be obtained soon,” he said.

Mahdzir was speaking to the media after visiting the home of a SPM2017 top scorer in Kampung Baru, here today.

A total 443,883 candidates sat for the 2017 SPM examination in 3,363 examination centres nationwide.

Mahdzir, earlier in the day, attended the announcement of the 2017 SPM exam results at SMK Dato Syed Ahmad.
